Buddy the Elf showed up this morning! He brought donuts and gifts for Lil' Hunkie too. This is our second year having him and right off the bat Lil' Hunkie wanted to hold him. So looks like it might be a bit more challenging this go round!
I stopped in a Dollar General last night to get supplies. And they had some simple plastic dishes on sale for $.75! I got 4 plates and 4 glasses. And then found some cute Mickey Mouse Christmas dishes, which is Lil' Hunkie's favorite. I loved seeing the excitement on his face and all I did was make powdered donuts a little special! Ha!
I figure there's still time to get a little more fancy since Lil' Hunkie is only 3! So I'm going to enjoy building this tradition! Besides the Mickey Mouse dishes, Buddy brought a new Christmas book and of course it had to be about the main reason for Christmas. After breakfast we sat down and read both it and the Elf on the Shelf book. And made some special memories.
I know there's a lot of critics of Elf on the Shelf but it boils down to one thing ....making memories the best way that fits your family. And making traditions your own. ☺
Happy Soiree Day!
