Welcome to August Bash Day 1!!!
We all have them....a recipe that we've made so often that we don't need to open the cookbook!
This yummy recipe for Turtle Bars is one of mine! It's very easy and one of my favs!!
Turtle Bars
12 oz pkg vanilla wafers
3/4 butter or margarine, melted
10 oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup pecan pieces, chopped
12 1/2 oz jar caramel topping
Preheat oven to 350. Crush vanilla wafers with a rolling pin to fine crumbs. Mix together the melted butter and the crumbs; press into bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with chocolate morsels and pecans. Drizzle with caramel topping. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Chill 30 minutes and cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
♥
Crushed crumbs...I always use the jar of caramel topping to crush!! I've never used a food processor (because I don't have one!) or blender so just crush how ever you like!
Added the melted butter....
... ready for the oven!!
Done!
So yummy....it's hard not to eat the whole pan!!

These look SO yummy! I love your idea of having an August bash! You have such a great blog!
I would love to win the cookbook! :)
I love church cookbooks! I have one that is so beat up and old and very well used! It's funny because as you flip through the pages you'll find a splatter of orange jello on one page, a splash of soy sauce on another, a smudge from some baking cocoa, etc! I WILL try this yummy recipe and let you know how it goes. Thanks for sharing!
The turtle bar would be a great treat if you mashed it up in some vanilla ice cream :) Oh how I'd gain 10lbs lol.
These look sooo good! I bet that cookbook is full of great recipes!
Love these turtle bars! They look amazing. I'm going to make them for my parents. Love your blog!
