Darling Day!

Hello Lovelies!
Sharing some cool things I've seen in some of the magazines I read!
Enjoy!
Concentric Brooch from Lady Mosquito as seen in Lucky
Just thought this was simple but still captivating!! There's purple, yellow and orange too!

For $34 this is a good investment.  Why? Because there's no funky colors that would go untouched! And the individual palettes can be taken out! So smart!

This is so cool! Did you know that vertical gardening is a trend? Well I didn't!!
There's step by step instructions and it looks so doable!!

I think these are nifty....after using them outside then toss them in your family room! Instant extra seating!

Inspired Mini Dessert Stand

Today's project is inspired by some Darlings that I have recently featured.  Remember these?

Two awesome ideas that I sort of combined!
Supplies for my version:
Dollar Tree candlestick and vase
Finial dowel cap and small wooden circle (from Hobby Lobby)
Paint of choice
glue
sand paper or sanding block

I had everything but the finial cap and the wooden circle so actual money spent was $1.30 plus tax. But to buy supplies excluding paint, glue, and sand paper would be $3.50 plus tax!  So lovin' the little cost to this project!!

Let's get started!!
First of all, there's 3 ways you can do this.
Here's just the wooden circle and vase.

Wooden circle, vase and finial cap.

And this is my version!!  So do what ever you like!  Now to the painting!

I took the metallic pink paint I have and painted the candlestick, wooden circle and finial before gluing. Gave the candlestick a second coat....wasn't worried about it being a little streaky as I was going to spray paint it later.

Then I glued the wooden circle to the candlestick with cement and let dry.

Once the cement was dry I took my new stand and finial outside and used spray paint (Rustoleum's Ballet Slippers) and painted a final time. Once that was dry I then took a sanding block and 'destressed' away so the hot pink would show through!!  Yay for double pink!! Then I glued the finial cap to the bottom of the vase.
(Before sanding)

All done!!  Isn't she cute?!

I can't wait to use this for one of the special things I have planned for August Bash week!!

See my Link Party Page for where I'll be linking up!!

Happy Thursday!!

I ♥ Etsy-Tea Party Pendants

Over the weekend, my mother and I loaded up Lil' Hunkie and went to a craft show here in town.  I was a little excited since I hadn't been to one in a while and wanted to do some scoping out...you know get some inspiration!
Well no such luck on the inspiration but we did meet a very nice man selling his wife's glass tile pendants.  And through conversation, they of course have an Etsy shop, Tea Party Pendants.

They offer a vast variety of pendants, do custom orders and prices are terrific!!
Here's the one that made it home with me and I already wore to church!

$5 which included one chain, $2 extra for the second chain.
Pretty lovely for $7!!

Here's a few others I liked...

These next two I found online...I love the charms!  And if the ring had been present on Saturday, I would have made it all mine!!

I think these are so great, especially since you can custom order just about anything...even a photo!
I'm thinking about a Vintage Gwen one!!
Wouldn't that be fun?!

Vintage Gwen Chapel-One More Reason God Is Good To Me!

Something wonderful happened in my life this past week and God deserves some glory!
One of my best friends from junior college found me on Facebook!  We had done minimal keeping in touch after junior college and she had been searching for me since 2007!
I was thrilled to get her friend request and later in the week we spoke on the phone and it was so good to hear not only her voice but her signature laugh as well!
I will not ever forget our conversation.  I was paid the highest compliment a Christian could ever receive.
See during college my friend was a little more wild then I was....meaning she drank and I didn't.  But she was one of the few friends I had made....so she did her thing and I, well I just hung out!
About 6 years ago she and her husband rededicated their lives to Christ and she said she immediately thought of me and how proud I would be of her.
I so am.
She had remembered me encouraging her.  Really? I did?
She thanked me for loving her even while she was sinning.

 Romans 5:8 Amplified Bible
"But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us."

To be told that I loved like God, like Christ has commanded us was extremely moving.
But you know what? The day before I had not acted that way. At.All.
And so God was lovingly reminding me that I can do it....love when the person doesn't deserve it.
For that's what God extends to us.
So thanks dear friend for your compliments...they were really tools God used to set me straight!
And that's one more reason God is so good to me.

Have a great weekend!

This is so cool....I'd like to have one when there's not little hands to grab everything!
It used to be a vanity and the transformation is a must see!

I am loving seeing embroidery hoops used as decor!  This is by far one of the best one's I've seen! With all the fabulous fabrics offered now just think of all the possibilities!!

as seen on Polyvore
Do you remember Friendship Bracelets? Well I sure do! And I made them!  So when I saw these cool updated versions I immediately started to think how I could recreate them!

Purse Size Tissue Holder

Today's little project is compliments of one of Hunkie's Aunties!  She requested directions on how to make a purse size tissue holder.  She's hosting her Bunco group in August too and wanted to make some!
Here's the ones I made last year that she remembered!!
These are quick and easy and make great little gifts!
Supplies
2-6 x 6 1/2 inch pieces of fabric
sewing machine
iron
Optional: embellishment such as ribbon

Measure and cut fabric.

With fabric wrong side together, fold edges of the 6 inch side inward no more than 1/2 an inch and iron down.
Do this on both edges of both pieces of fabric.

Then fold each edge inward to the middle, the edges should not lap, just meet.  Iron.

 {Edges folded in.}

Flatten back out and cut ribbon and lay on edge, then sew edges closed.

Fold edges inward again,  if you're doing an embellished edge like I'm showing then, the embellishment goes facing down like in photo....

Run a seam along the ends, I just use the foot peddle as my guide for width.

Turn inside out and you're done!

Fill with tissues and toss in your purse!!

See my Link Party Page for where I'm linking up at!

Happy Thursday!
