Today's Chapel is inspired again by my devotion, Praying the Names Jesus. What can I say? It's a great devotion!!
Easter is only about a week away but sooner than that is Passover. Passover is a Jewish festival celebrating the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt. Prior to the exodus God told Moses to instruct the Israelites to put blood from the Passover Lamb on their doorposts. That way when the angel of death came, he would pass over that home and only visit the ones without such a mark, there by keeping their firstborn sons alive. This was the last plague God used to convince Pharaoh to set His people free.
Do you really think God needed a mark to know where His people were? Nope. It was people who did.
Think about this: "It is His blood that marks us and sets us apart as God's people so that when the angel of death passes over us at the final judgment, we will experience not death eternally but life forever!" -Ann Spangler.
That act of marking the doorposts was just a foretelling for our future! I'm thankful today to be marked by innocent blood that at it's shedding set me free and gives me eternal life! Amen!

Have a Happy Weekend!

I am reading through the Old Testament, trying to read through the Bible in a year kinda thing, and the Old Testament is actually so interesting and refreshing. It is like you are there seeing God work!
Great truth you are sharing today! The Old Testament and the New Testament tie perfectly together if you really understand it-- just like this example you give. It all points to our need for a Savior and the gospel message. Thanks, Jennifer!
