My little Hunkie turned 1 last November. As we all know turning 1 is a big deal. I decorated his room in trucks due to his daddy liking trucks and knew I wanted to go with that theme but a little different. Vintage Truck it was! And boy was it hard to find stuff for! That's when I entered the blog world! Now I read Martha Stewart Living and had read her Weddings magazine until I got married so I know a little about dessert tables. But man party planning and party blogs are SO popular. Well of course I found some favorite blogs! First one being Hostess with the Mostess which led to others, one being Glorious Treats. I used some parties on those sites as inspiration. But never did I find a party that was just Vintage Truck...there's Vintage Fire Truck but not what I was looking for. So I turned to Etsy and found Bnute Productions....she had the perfect invitation! I used Bnute for the invitations, cupcake picks, and a banner with Hunkie's name on it. The rest I did myself. The rest being; the birthday boy's hat, highchair banner, food labels, timeline banner, baking (except the sugar cookies my big sis did those) and the activities which were a coloring station and a mock photo booth complete with mustaches on a stick! Whew! I won't lie...it was alot of work but it turned out how I wanted and I'd do it again! On to the photos!..........
* I couldn't find a polka dot tablecloth to use as the two runners so I improvised!...I used a $4 twin sheet...cut it in half...sewed the edges.
Hi! Thank you for the sweet comment on my blog--I'm your newest follower too! This party is SO sweet--I love the colors. I love your son's name too--we have a friend with a Silas, and it is such a unique and strong name. I am actually going to feature your post on my Friday Favorites on Friday--check it out on Friday and feel free to grab a featured button! Great job on the party!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Thank you so much! Awesome! You don't know how excited I am!
ReplyDeleteAww too stinkin' cute! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Haley!!
ReplyDeleteOhmygoodnes!!! You have no idea what this post means to me! I too decided to do a vintage truck party for my soon to be 1 year old and have been trying to gather ideas. I started searching blogs hoping to find something just like this! Your is the only one I've found that is just truck and not firetruck. I already have the invites, etc picked out and ordered and it is so funny that we chose similar colors for our parties (red, blue, brown). I love the old truck centerpiece that you put the cupkae on!! My FIL has an old red vintage truck that inspired my party and I hope to use it somehow at the party. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteApril-not sure if you got my email or not but I'm so glad this has helped!! I got that truck centerpiece at a local antique shop for $10! Depending on how big your FIL'S truck is, you could do so many things! The bed could hold favors, candy, cookies, water bottles, photos...flowers... Good luck and I would love to see and even feature it on Soiree Day! Just email me..jwheel75@gmail.com. Again yay!
